Know Everything About Microneedling Before Opting For It

No matter how intimidating “microneedling” may sound, the actual process is pretty simple, minimally-invasive. It is a collagen induction therapy that is designed to promote skin rejuvenation by using small needles to create small punctures on the top layer of the skin which helps in making new collagen in the body. As the human body makes collagen on wounded areas, by piercing the skin with microneedles, the body sends fibroblasts to create collagens in the affected area. This improves the thickness and the texture of the skin. It can also be used for other dermatological issues such as acne scars and reducing skin pore size. A clinical numbing cream is applied to the skin for the numbing effect.

Here is all that you need to know about microneedling before opting for it.

Does it hurt?

This has to be the first question that will come to your mind when you think about piercing your skin with microneedles. But you do not need to worry. Not only does the numbing cream help to take away the pain, but there is minimal to no pain during the procedure. You may expect a bit of pinkness on your skin post-procedure, but that will heal in a day or two. Try to avoid sweating and putting makeup on that day and the day after.

How is it done?

At first, a clinical numbing cream is applied to the face after cleaning it. After the effect of the cream, a serum is applied that helps the skin by promoting skin repair and healing. To make the serum take effect, a microneedling pen with small needles moving up and down is passed back and forth all over the face to ‘needle in’ the serum in the skin. After this process, another layer of serum is applied.

Is it available for the whole body?

Yes. We may think that microneedling is only for the face, which is the most common area for that treatment, but it can be done to any part of your body that needs extra collagen.

How often can you do it?

Normally you can microneedle every three to five months but with major acne issues or scaring issues, you may consult for at least one session per month for three to four months.

Clinicare microneedling provides you with professional microneedling experts for all your sessions and queries to ensure a wonderful experience.
