Infertility affects around one in eight American couples. Luckily these couples can use assisted reproductive technology (ART) such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) to address their infertility. If you are considering in vitro fertilization to start or expand your family, you can do a few things to optimize your chances of success. Here are ways you can increase IVF Bedford success.

    Reduce your stress

Stress can significantly impact your fertility and your ability to conceive. Stress can lead to a hormonal imbalance, which can affect the release of eggs during the IVF cycle. Hence, you should try to relax and reduce stress levels as much as possible. You can practice meditation, yoga, or other relaxation techniques that work best for you. Additionally, you can engage in light physical activity, such as walking, to reduce stress levels and improve your overall well-being.

    Quit smoking

Cigarettes contain harmful chemicals that can damage eggs and sperm, leading to genetic abnormalities and other complications. Therefore, quitting smoking at least three months before starting the IVF process is essential. Quitting smoking will not only improve your chances of a successful IVF cycle, but it will also improve your overall health and well-being. If you need help quitting smoking, talk to your doctor, who can provide resources and support to help you quit.

    Get Enough Sleep

During the IVF process, it is crucial to get enough sleep to optimize your chances of success. Sleep helps regulate hormones essential for fertility, such as luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones. Lack of sleep can cause hormonal imbalances, affecting the IVF cycle’s success.

Ensure you get at least eight hours of sleep every night during IVF. You can create a relaxing bedtime routine, avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed, and ensure that your sleep environment is comfortable and conducive to sleep.

    Maintain a healthy weight

Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for fertility and the success of the IVF cycle. Being overweight or underweight can affect hormone levels, making it more challenging to conceive. In addition, obesity can lead to other health complications that can further reduce fertility levels. Therefore, it is essential to maintain a healthy weight and body mass index (BMI) before starting the IVF process. You can consult with a nutritionist or a healthcare professional to develop a healthy diet and exercise plan that works best for you.

Find the right doctor and clinic

Choosing the right doctor and clinic can significantly impact your IVF success. Look for a clinic with high success rates and experienced doctors who specialize in fertility. In addition, you should choose a doctor you feel comfortable with and trust. IVF treatment can be a lengthy and emotional process, and it is crucial to have a doctor who can provide support and guidance throughout the process.

Also, ensure you read reviews and ask for referrals from other couples who have undergone the IVF process. Take the time to research different clinics and doctors and schedule consultations to determine which one is the best fit for you.
