Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that affects women across the globe due to hormonal imbalance. There is no cure for the disease; thus, most patients manage its symptoms through medication and hormone therapy. Aside from medicine, there is a natural alternative proven to be effective on PCOS patients. They need to address the root cause of the symptoms to get desired results. In addition to supplements, these natural methods are effective.

    Get enough magnesium

Women who are suffering from PCOS exhibit signs of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. These are risk factors that contribute to health conditions such as heart diseases, stroke, and diabetes. Low magnesium is associated with diabetes. According to research, low magnesium levels can be rectified by patients taking a dietary supplement of the mineral. It improves insulin sensitivity which leads to PCOS and type 2 diabetes. Studies have shown enhanced insulin levels and blood glucose results in insulin-resistant patients who take magnesium instead of a placebo.

    Increases omega-3 intake

One of the familiar sources of omega-3 is fish oil, associated with a long list of health benefits. Research states that omega-3 reduces androgen levels in women suffering from PCOS. Omega-3 lowers testosterone concentration in women with PCOS, which helps them to resume regular menses.

    Increase your chromium intake

Chromium is known to regulate blood sugar levels and insulin in the body. Aside from helping diabetic patients lower their blood sugar levels, chromium supplements significantly reduce fasting blood sugar and insulin levels in women with PCOS. Additionally, chromium improves body mass index, which controls PCOS and regulates blood sugar levels.

    Combine vitamin D and calcium

Using calcium and vitamin D improves BMI, menstrual abnormalities, and other related symptoms in women healing PCOS naturally. There is vitamin D deficiency in women with PCOS, thus requiring supplements since it’s a vital hormone to the endocrine system.

    Strategize on your calorie intake

The timing of your calorie intake has a significant impact on insulin, testosterone, and glucose levels. Low insulin potentially improves infertility issues. Women with PCOS should take excess calories during breakfast to improve insulin and glucose levels and reduce testosterone which doesn’t apply to those who take calories during dinner.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will improve a patient’s life. Following these natural methods, patients suffering from PCOS can solve their menstrual problems and breakouts. PCOS is common in women in their productive age caused by hormonal imbalance and insulin resistance. By managing the above factors, patients can ease the symptoms.
