Even though there are many beautiful and unique sounds in the world, many people cannot hear them as well as others. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), 1.5 billion people worldwide are suffering from hearing problems. This percentage could increase to 2.5 billion by 2050, which is why you should learn how to take good care of your ears.

Consider visiting a hearing clinic in Singapore or anywhere else to get your ears accessed by ENT doctors. Below are the things you need to do before your first appointment comes.

    1. Bring A List Of Medications

Some medications can lead to damage to hearing, whether temporary or permanent. ENT doctors will need to know your previous and current medications to determine if there are medicines that contribute to your hearing problems.

    2. Show Your Medical Records

Another thing that an ENT doctor will need is your medical records. These could be documents about the surgeries and laboratory tests you have done throughout your life.

    3. Bring Someone With You

If you are afraid of hearing impairment assessment, bringing someone you know and are close with can help calm you down. You will become more comfortable and have more peace of mind now there is someone with you.

    4. Avoid Exposure To Loud Noises

Exposure to loud noises at least 12 to 16 hours before an ENT appointment can affect your hearing impairment assessment. The outcome might not be as accurate as it should be.

If you love to listen to music, you should try your best not to do it at least a day before your hearing appointment.

    5. Verify Coverage With Your Health Insurance

In most cases, health insurance companies only cover the visit and hearing impairment assessment. As for the hearing aid in Singapore, you will have to pay for it from your pocket.

The estimated cost of a hearing aid per piece is around S$800 to S$8000, depending on the brand and model

    6. Reschedule Your Appointment If You Have A Cold

Besides loud noises, another thing that can affect your hearing impairment assessment is your health condition. If you have a cold, ENT doctors will have trouble determining if the fluid in your ears is caused by your cold or hearing problems.

Now that you know what you need to do, you are ready to book your appointment. Contact The Hearing Solution Group at +65 6337 0090 or leave a message on their website if you are interested in getting a hearing check by this hearing centre in Singapore.
