Alleviate menstrual cramps through Acupuncture

Menstrual cramps affect more than half women around the globe. Acupuncture has proved helpful to alleviate menstrual cramps in women. During exercise and excitement compounds endorphin is produced naturally by human body, it provides a feeling of wellbeing. Serotonin is a brain chemical. In new research it is found that acupuncture is more effective than herbal medicines and drugs. Acupuncture encourages the production compound endorphin and serotonin in central nervous system of the body.

When compared acupuncture with herbal treatment or pharmacological treatment it was found that acupuncture had reduced the pain significantly. There are no perfect causes of menstrual cramps among women. In some women it is associated with nausea, vomiting, bloating, diarrhea, dizziness and headache. These symptoms can become more severe or may last longer as women grow older.

The problem of menstrual cramps sometimes becomes so bad that it become impossible for women to go to work. They use common treatments such as taking ower part of the abdomen. So acupuncture has now become the subject matter of  research and investigation.

Acupuncture has been used as a form of anesthesia in China for at least 2,600 years. Researchers believe that it can clear blockages in circulation. Now expert doctors in western medicine are also turning toward acupuncture so that they can give acupuncture as complementary treatment to their patients for relieving pain.
