Dental experts in Chile have produced a novel chemical which could make human teeth cavity proof and remove the need to visit dentists everlastingly. The new molecule has been known as Keep 32 and it annihilates the bacteria which cause cavities in teeth in just sixty seconds.

The new chemical keep 32 targets streptococcus mutants, the bacteria that turn the sugar in the mouth into lactic acid which grinds down tooth enamel. By annihilating the bacteria, Keep 32 molecule prevents it from damaging teeth prior to it begins turning sugar into lactic acid.

Keep 32 can be added to any existing dental care products such as toothpaste, mouthwash and chewing gum and it turn these products into super cleansers which could ward off the underlying cause of tooth decay. Use of products containing the chemical may help keep your teeth cavity proof for quite a few hours.

Researchers Jose Cordoba from Yale University and Erich Astudillo from the University of Chile stated the product has been under test for seven years, and is now going into human trials. It could hit the market within fourteen to eighteen months. Keep 32 chemical could even be added to foods to stop bacteria damaging teeth as you eat.

The researchers hope to license the patent to chemical giants such as Procter and Gamble.
