The researchers assured millions of mobile users that they are not at risk of developing cancer from talking on their phone. The use of mobile phones since long has been frequently associated with brain disorders as their usage has increased over past decade and health authorities always advised people to try and limit their time on the phone.
The research team from Manchester University found that there had been an increase in one form of brain cancer in England, however stated that rise in incidence was too small to be related with mobile phone usage. According researchers’ people should not need to spend less time with a mobile phone to ear.
According lead author Dr Frank de Vocht, it is very probably that they are at vanguard of a brain cancer epidemic linked to mobile phones as some have recommended. They cannot keep out the probability that there are people who are vulnerable to radio frequency exposure.
Some rare brain cancers are associated with radio frequency, but they interpret their statistics as not indicating a pressing need to implement public health events to diminish radio frequency exposure from mobile phones, added Dr Vocht. Britain has the highest number of mobile phone users universally.
The findings of the study were encouraging and add to bulk of evidence to propose there is no significant association between mobile phone and brain cancer, explained Prof Malcolm Sperrin, director of medical physics at Royal Berkshire Hospital.
