The method to stop post-traumatic stress syndrome has discovered by researchers. It is estimated that nearly thirty percent of people w ho suffered harrowing incidents will develop anxiety mayhem which devastates person’s capability to manage. The symptoms of PTSD may include vivid flashbacks, emotional deadness and nightmares.

The research team from Northwestern University has discovered a molecular reason behind devastating syndrome and method to cure it. It was established that after a traumatic episode the brain can turn out to be over-stimulated causing an unending, frantic interaction between two brain proteins long after they should have disconnected.

The research team found that by injecting two newly developed drugs MPEP and MTEP into hippocampus of the brain could end the disorders. They are able to halt the development of inflated fear with a simple and single drug cure and found the window of time they have to intercede, explained Prof Radulovic.

But the effect only worked if the drug was administered within five hours of the episode. An inflated fear disorder can be stimulated by struggle, an earthquake, a tsunami, rape or any harrowing psychological or physical event. People PTSD with feel danger in everything that environs them, added Ms Radulovic said.

Such people suffered from insomnia and their social and family bonds are disengaged or stressed. They avoid many situations because they are afraid something bad will happen. Even the nominal cue that resembles the traumatic event will trigger a full-blown panic attack. The heartbeat of sufferer shoots up during panic attack.

The sufferer may struggle to breath, sweat profusely and have a feeling of impending death. Many people bounce back to normal functioning after stressful or dangerous situations have passed. But some go on to develop post-traumatic stress syndrome, which can appear after a time lag.
