Through novel study researchers suggested that pomegranate juice could slow down the spread of cancer. The movement of cancer cells is halted by the constituents of the pomegranate juice, and they weaken their appeal towards chemical sign which cause them to spread.

It was discovered that special ingredients in the juice like fatty acids could slow down the spread of the conditions from bones to prostate cancer. It is believed by research team from the University of California that fruit would have analogous effects on other cancers too.

This is especially thrilling as they can now alter these naturally happening constituents of the pomegranate juice to improve their workings and make them more efficient in averting prostate cancer metastasis, stated Dr Manuela Martins-Green, while presenting the findings at the American Society of Cell Biology’s 50th annual conference.

As the genes and proteins occupied in progression of prostate cancer cells are basically the similar to those occupied in movement of other types of cancer cells. The similar tailored constituents of the juice could have an extensive impact in cancer treatment, added Dr Martins-Green.

Earlier study claimed that pomegranate juice could slow the progression of the condition, was contentious because the UCLA team did not explain the biological device behind the effects. But the authors of the newest study told that they had now discovered the valuable constituents which impact on cell adhesion and migration.
