Zapping a spud could make it healthy

Potatoes can be made healthier by zapping them with electricity. Researchers have revealed that by giving an electric shock to vegetables can make them more nutritious. The electricity ploy potatoes into producing a rush of antioxidants accredited with keeping the body and brain healthy.

By scaling up to an industrial level it seems that an inexpensive process could provide potatoes a whole new image. The other trail of the same study showed that using ultrasound on potatoes had a correspondingly beneficial effect. Boiled and baked potatoes can be even more attractive substitute for health conscious people but chips will still likely be bad for the waistline. In the meantime, potatoes with colored flesh are higher in antioxidants, especially purple potatoes. All potatoes are a healthy and tasty choice. They unsurprisingly fat free, a source of vitamin C, vitamins B1 and B6 and foliate.
