New research showed that sugar truly does make you sweeter, by making you more likely to excuse being persecuted. Researchers believe that sugar rush gives the brain with the fuel it requires to push away thoughts of responsibility and vengeance and make it easy for you to forgive and forget.

The outcomes of the study give the first proof that clemency depends on how resourcefully the body uses glucose. The team of researchers from the University of Kentucky analyzed if there was a connection between symptoms of the most common form of diabetes and capability to forgive.

Type 2 diabetes which typically develops in middle age is connected to obesity. People who suffered from type 2 diabetes struggle to spin sugar into energy required to fuel the brain. Four different study trails conducted on males and females of middle age suffered from symptoms of diabetes, researchers found that sufferers of diabetes were less forgiving.

When they were asked if they would seek revenge if somebody gave away one of their secrets, they replied that they were most likely to want to hit back. Moreover such people were more reluctant to help those who irritated them, reported, the journal Personality and Individual Differences.

It was possible that the brain was short of the sugar it required to keep revengeful whims at bay, said researchers. Above study concluded that all brain activities needed as a minimum some amount of glucose but some tasks that need self control require large amount of glucose. Earlier studies have attributed sugar with lowering stress
