Researchers have developed a diet drug that could drop up to two dress size of a woman in six months. This drug is known as four-in-one diet drug that will not only control weight but also lower blood pressure, elevate good cholesterol and cure diabetes. It is somewhat similar to a gut hormone which regulates craving.

Liraglutide which come in an injectable pen swindles the brain into thought of full in spite of eating twenty percent less food. Taking for six months can shed a stone and half on an average which makes it more than twice as good as anything already available in market. It is free from all side effects.

Moreover it could cut the requirement of gastric bands, stomach stapling and other dangerous operations. Liraglutide had been tested by researchers from UK on more than five hundred and fifty obese males and females. Some participants were given liraglutide daily while others were given dummy pills or obesity treatment prescribed by GPs.

It was heard by the International Congress on Obesity that people who took liraglutide lost an average a stone and a half over the period of six months that was more than double as compared to those took the obesity treatment. The benefits of liraglutide did not end there.

Patients who were takings drugs to control the blood pressure could throw away those drugs because blood pressure dropped to a significant level. Improvements in blood fats, including cholesterol were also noticed. Liraglutide that is also called Victoza could improve the meting out of sugar in people with diabetes and remove the need for injecting insulin.

The drug is very effective and most obese people would like to lose one and a half stone or more. One of the things they looked at was pre-diabetes, where you have one foot on the slippery slope towards diabetes and heart disease, and Liraglutide more or less abolished it, said Professor Mike Lean from Glasgow University.
