Taking three cups of tea a day is equivalent to drinking water and keeps you hydrated and have extra health benefits, according to researchers. They further said that tea does not bother your bladder than plain water. Tea not only rehydrates your body as water but it also protects you against heart disease and some cancers, found UK nutritionists.
They consider that flavonoid is the key ingredient in tea that promotes health. Such polyphenol antioxidant is found in many plants and foods counting leaves of tea and has been shown to prevent cell damage. In a study trail public health nutritionist Dr. Carrie Ruxton and team asked twenty one men to take mugs to tea over a twelve hour period or same amount of water.
Another day tea drinkers were given water and vice versa. The blood and urine samples of participants were collected and tested. It was found that men did urinate more when taking tea. There was also little difference in levels of sodium and other essential salts.
It is common misapprehension among people that drinking tea can increase the risk of dehydration because of the caffeine content. But the new theory establishes that there is completely no truth behind the theory. Taking moderate amount of tea presented same excellent hydration traits as plain water said Dr. Ruxton.
She further said that urine volume was similar after tea or water confirming that you do not urinate more after drinking tea. Mug of tea is delicious and refreshing and it can be an important part of maintain proper hydration.
