In a new research, Canadian researchers have found that pain of jab can be reduced in babies if they are given something sugary before a jab. If newborns are given some drops of sugar solution before vaccination then there is less probability to cry. From trail of one thousand injection experts from University of Toronto found that newborns who were given a solution of glucose are twenty percent less likely to cry subsequent to jab.

Medical staffs have advised to give infants a sweat drink or glucose before immunization because it gives an improved reaction to the jab. Researchers from an international team have collected the data from fourteen trails that involve two thousand infants from one years of age to younger ones’.

Lead researcher Dr Arne Ohlsson and his team from University of Toronto in their trail found that giving a small amount of sweet solution compared to water or other treatment could decrease crying of infants in ninety three percent cases.

Healthcare providers should think to use sucrose or glucose during and before vaccination. Existing researches points towards pain-reducing properties of sweet solution, working for infants undergoing painful procedures like heel prick, explained Canadian researchers.

The analgesic effects of sweet solution given to older babies were more modest than those given in new born babies explained from Melbourne, Australia and the study was published in journal Archives of Disease in Childhood.
