In a new study it is found that citrus based diet soda can help to prevent the formation of kidney stones. Many branded diet sodas such as diet 7-up and diet sprite contain citrate composite in the form of potassium citrate. Citrate is well known restrainer of calcium oxalate kidney stones.
Small particles developed in the form of kidney stones grow in kidney and pass through the urinary tract to urine bladder and cause tremendous amount of pain. The side effects of kidney stones may include nausea, vomiting and added kidney pressure. Their side effects may increase if they stay in body for longer times and block the flow of urine.
Millions of people worldwide are affected by kidney stones and men are four times more prone to development of kidney stones than women. Kidney stones have higher attention during the summer seasons because at that time humidity and temperature both are at their highest. Dehydration is common in summers and due to that kidneys do not left with sufficient liquids to cleanse out of the body. As a result they start to slow down, cause deficiency and build up of chemicals within the kidneys.
So Dehydration causes painful stones. Other factor that can contribute to development of kidney stones is ice tea. Men should limit the intake of ice teas as because it has high concentration of oxalates, which are main component in normal kidney stones. Foods having high protein such as spinach, nuts and rhubarb can also contribute to formation of kidney stones. Over consumption of vitamin C can also cause kidney stones.

Beer can also lower the risk of kidney stones. According to study, it can lower the risk by 40 percent.
