Symptoms of Sick Sinus Syndrome

When heart rhythm is affected due to number of condition then is known as sick sinus syndrome. In this condition heart beat become slower and some times becomes fast. During normal process rhythm of heart is controlled by sinus node. The patients who suffer from sick sinus node often require pacemaker to control the pace of heart rhythm. This disease is common among elderly adults. Other causes of sick sinus syndrome are high blood pressure, coronary artery disease and aortic disease. Some symptoms are explained below.

1. Tachycardia : A fast heart beat or heart palpitation is main symptoms of sick sinus syndrome. A fast heart beat is called tachycardia. When a sufferer fells beat of heart in the chest region then occurs palpitation.

2. Bradycardia : Another symptom of sick sinus syndrome is  bradycardia. It is slow pace of heart rhythm that is controlled by sinus node. Many patients of bradycaria do not feel any symptoms of this condition because the symptom of barycaria comes and go.

3. Beath shortness : Another symptom of sick sinus syndrome is breath shortness and patient feels as though he is not getting enough air. In sick sinus syndrome it becomes very uncomfortable for the patient to breath.

4. Pains in chest : In sick sinus syndrome pain is occurred in area below the neck and area between upper part of the abdomen. Patients suffer from irregular rhythm of heart could experience chest pain. Some times chest pain may be caused due to angina pain.

5. Fatigue : Another symptoms of sick sinus syndrome is fatigue that may cause lack of energy during whole day. This is different from drowsiness that may causes feeling of sleepiness.

6. Confused thinking : In sick sinus syndrome due to slow pace of heart rhythm there is lack of blood flow towards brain that causes patient to think with less clarity or think slowly. Patient may have difficulty in concentrating and remembering day to day tasks.

7. Light-headedness or Dizziness : In sick sinus syndrome due to reduced supply of blood  towards brain light-headedness or dizziness is occurred. It can lead to fainting or patient may feel as though he is out of balance.
