Vital muscle for breathing in human body is diaphragm which is placed under the lungs. Hiccups start from the diaphragm of the human being, they are causes due to sudden and involuntary contraction of diaphragm. This causes air to be absorbed unexpectedly into the lungs that seizes and closes the glottis right above human voice box or larynx. Due to seizing hiccup sound is come out finally.

Hiccups normally last for few minutes but in some people they may continue for days and even for some weeks. The continue hiccup can be result of some other serious disease or due to some underlining medical condition. They should consult their doctor immediately for proper treatment. 1.  Simple home remedy for treating hiccup is drink fresh compressed juice of pineapple two times a day.

2.  You can take yogurt by adding three teaspoons of salt to it and it is a wonderful remedy for curing the problem of hiccups.

3.  Another home remedy for hiccup is take ginger in small pieces and adds a dash of salt and chew these pieces with salt. It provides relief in hiccups.

4.  Another home remedy for hiccups is by taking a half teaspoon of mustard seeds and add same quantity of butter to it, now swallow this mixture in one go. This also proved effective remedy for treating hiccups.

5.  Drinking plenty of water at the start off  hiccups can help to reduce the frequency of hiccups. You can inhale pepper in small quantity that causes sneezing and aids to stops hiccups.

6.  By avoiding spicy and hot food you can reduce the start off of hiccups. You should also avoid over eating to prevent the problem of hiccups.
