Cause of Myopia : In normal person’s eye, the light is entered through iris that carries image reflection. Lens and cornea in eye focus the image on the surface of the retina squarely although upside down. Optical nerve in the eye transmits the focused image towards visual part of the brain. Here this image is interpreted into clear picture. But those who suffer from myopia this process does not work correctly.

The eyeball of sufferer of myopia become little long, from back to front and cornea and lens start to focus image in front of the retina. The sufferer does not observe this at short distance but distant images are deformed before hit the retina. The brain cannot sharpen the unfocused images that result in blur vision and lack of complete vision.

Treatment of Myopia : There are various treatment available for treating myopia like strengthening exercises of eyes, contact lenses, correction through laser and use of glasses. Many eye specialists prefer to use prescribed eyeglass or contact lenses. The problem of myopia is caused due to focus problem and there are contact lenses available that can actually reshape the cornea of sufferer overnight and they allow the wearer to see in normal manner throughout the day.

Laser based surgery : The latest treatment for myopia is laser corrective surgery which has become best option for people who suffer from myopia. In this treatment an eye specialist give anesthesia to sufferer’s eyes and with help of laser remove excess corneal material. The eyeball is also make shorter that allows normal focus to occur. Those who have got treatment through laser therapy reported improvement in their vision.
