A cyst when occurs on the eyelid this is called as chalazion in medical terms and this type of chalazion occurs mostly on upper part of the eyelid and it occurs when oil glands of the eye get blocked. Due to chalazion one feels discomfort and moreover it is very irritating. It is a hard lump some times fill with pus that may go off and on its own and some times does not go for months.
Symptoms of chalazion : Symptoms of chalazion may include seen swelling on the eyelid because eyelids are very tender. Some times eyelid turning heavy and eyes become sensitive to light. The main cause of formation of chalazion is that not removing makeup of your eyes at night time. Due to that oil present in eye makeup gets composed in oil glands of the eye and leads to formation of the chalazion.
Natural remedies to treat chalazion : There are number of natural remedies that you can try to treat chalazion and the possibility of its occurrence again is slight. Below are explained some natural remedies to cure and prevent chalazion.
1. Soak a towel in warm water and squeeze the extra water off and slightly apply this towel on the chalazion and repeat this process four times a day for two weeks. This not only reduces the size of the chalazion but you can get rid of the chalazion permanently.
2. Another natural remedy for chalazion is that boil a few acacia leaves in two cups of water and make a condensation and use it on the eye lid, this will ease the pain and reduce the swelling caused by the chalazion.
3. Do not ever think of squeezing, rubbing, rupturing and scratching the chalazion because it will worsen the condition. Stop applying eye makeup till chalazion is cured completely. Wash your hands each time you make contact with your eyes. It helps in reducing the chances of infections.
4. Do wash your eyes regularly to avoid any future occurrence of the cyst. If you suffer from cysts too often in eyes then you should check in with an eye specialist to get proper treatment.
