Researchers have taken salive test of those women to check cortisol level. Their result showed a remarkable increase in amount of hormones after complision of the study.
The reson for increased level of cortisol in body could be that corisol is used in body to increse the level of energy and when some one is not taking enough calories which provide enrgy to his body then cotisol began to release stress hormones. Many people also report high psychological level of stress which may be due to depriving their bodies of calories.
The chronic exposure to low calorie diet over longer periods could increase level of cholesterol, increase blood pressure and can raise the risk of depression.
