Now chokeberry is being used as food supplement and can be found easily on grocery stores and pharmacies.

High level of components found in chokeberry makes it healthful is known as anthocyanins. All anthocyanins found in chokebeery function as antioxidants and they protect seeds of chokeberry from sunshine and encouraged oxidative stress. Consumption of chokeberries protects your body from various damaging conditions such as pollution exposure and free radicals gained metabolically.

Many scientific studies have shown amazing effects of consuming chokeberry in various diseases ranges from obesity to cancer. Anthocyanins found in chokeberry have also shown to improve the functions of insulin and blood glucose level in the body. To check the influence of chokeberry on health researchers Bolin Qin and Richard Anderson from the US Department of Agriculture took trial on rats.

They made rats insensitive to insulin by feeding them a fructose rich diet for six weeks. They made rats to drink water with high extract of chokeberry. After six weeks they compared fat, body weight and regulation of blood glucose of the rats. They found rats consuming chokeberry extract water have weighed less, lower blood glucose, low LDL and reduced level of plasma triglycerides.

From above research it is concluded that these alteration can theoretically show the way to lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes in human beings.
