People who are suffering from migraine pain here is good news for them because a new research claims that taking aspirin can reduce migraine headache. Researchers also found that a single dose of aspirin could reduce nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound and other symptoms related to migraine. Aspirin can have certain side effects but still people have confidence in migraine medicines.

Many people when took single dose of aspirin only, it is seen that their moderate or severe pain was relieved completely and this is happened within two hours after taking aspirin. One in two people felt reduced headache pain when compared to one in three who took placebo.

They also found that when aspirin is taken in combination with anti emetic, people stop to feel sick and this combination is useful for reducing symptoms of migraine such as vomiting and nausea. But this combination did not provide much relief in migraine pain. Researchers said that further studies are required to find effectiveness of aspirin when compared to other migraine drugs.

The author of the study said that short term use of aspirin probably did not pose a large problem. The potential for gastrointestinal harm with long-term use was well documented.

From viewpoint of Wendy Thomas, chief executive of The Migraine Trust told that person who is suffering from migraine should first consult with physician and get diagnosis for headache even though number of effective medicines for migraine is available over the counter because different people respond to different drugs in different ways.
