You feel problem of toe pain when a corn is developed. The nerves of your toe get extra pressure and result in severe pain. Toe injuries are very common among people who participate in sports activities though it may occur to anyone. The most common causes of toe pain include wearing of high heel shoe that may cause stress on your toe. Another reason is wearing tight fitting shoes and socks which may stress your toe joint. Inward growth of toenail may also cause problem of toe pain.
Curing the problem with Yoga : In yoga the reclining big toe pose (Supta Padangusthasana) is practiced to get relief from toe pain. In Sanskrit meaning of sputa is lying down, pada means foot and meaning of angustha is big toe. This pose also provides relief from hamstring, calves and hips pain.
Method of doing reclining big toe pose : Lye on the floor and extend your legs as far as possible then stretch your arms along your body. Now breathe in and bend your left leg and catch your left big toe with your left hand. On an exhale straighten your left leg at 90 degree angle. Be sure to keep your right leg straight and in the same line as the rest of your body. Be sure to keep your shoulders and face calm and relaxed. Slowly increase the stretch on your left leg. Hold for at least one minute. Repeat the same with other leg.
Things to remember : If this pose is practiced correctly it can reduce toe pain to a greater extent. But you should remember few things before practice of this pose such as when the symptoms of toe joint pain get severe. You should also consult a yoga expert before practice this in severe pain.
