Medical science has developed a range of powerful drugs which effectively avert the symptoms of an accute attack & also decrease the incidence of attack.However they do not cure the condition & may even render the sufferer weaker & more sick than before.they also create psychological & ,in some cases, psychological dependence.
In Yoga therapy , the firs step is to give the sufferer the experience of successfully managing the condition using Yoga techniques along with recourse to medicines only when it is absolutely necessary. Anti-asthma drugs should not be discontinued suddenly without proper guidance , as this often allows asthma previously suppressed by drugs to ‘bounce back’ . It is best practiced in Yoga ashram, especially when patient depending on drugs .these drugs should be avoided in all but the most severe cases.
